‘Sea of people’ forced to flee Khan Younis, says UNRWA chief

Tens of thousands of people continue to flee the city of Khan Younis in southern Gaza on foot as they attempt to reach the relative safety of the Egyptian border.

These were the scenes depicted in a video posted on X by UNRWA chief Philippe Lazzarini.

“A sea of people forced to flee Khan Younis, ending up at the border with Egypt,” he wrote.

Khan Younis has been under sustained Israeli bombardment, and the Israeli military has given evacuation orders to large areas of the city, forcefully displacing hundreds of thousands of people.
