Iran helps Houthis with intelligence for attacks on ships - Reports WSJ

Iranian forces allegedly provide intelligence to the Houthis, which they use to target missiles and drones at ships passing in the Red Sea, the American Wall Street Journal claims, citing Western and Middle Eastern security sources; the Houthis deny such claims.
"Iranian paramilitary forces provide real-time intelligence to Yemen's Houthis, which the rebels use to target drones and missiles to attack ships passing through the Red Sea," the report says.

According to the publication's sources, the information transmitted to the Houthis is allegedly collected by a reconnaissance vessel, which, according to them, is controlled by Iranian forces.

A Western official told the publication that the Houthis allegedly do not have radar technology to target ships, which is why they allegedly need Iranian help.

However, a Houthi spokesman denied such claims, pointing out that the movement has its own intelligence equipment.

“It’s strange to attribute everything to Iran, as if they are the most powerful power in the world. We have intelligence assets that have proven themselves well over many years,” the newspaper quotes the Houthi spokesman as saying.
