SDF, Local Leaders Agree on De-Escalation in Syria's Deir ez-Zor

Two senior US officials visited the Syrian province of Deir ez-Zor and agreed with representatives of the Kurdish-led Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), the Syrian Democratic Council (SDC) and local tribal leaders to de-escalate situation in the region amid increasing tensions, the US Embassy in Syria has said.

Last week the situation in the province had deteriorated after the SDF had arrested the head of the Deir ez-Zor Military Council.

On Friday, the SDF announced curfew for two days amid the unstable security situation in the province.
