France is following the situation in Gabon very closely, said Prime Minister Élisabeth Borne on Wednesday, as she addressed a meeting of ambassadors in Paris.
Borne did not provide further details.
Gabon gained independence from 60 years of French colonial rule in 1960, but the two countries have maintained close economic, diplomatic and cultural ties.
French is the official language of Gabon, and national systems such as education are heavily based on the French model.
