Zakharova commented on the UNESCO statement about the explosion in Lviv

UNESCO's statement about the explosion in the buffer zone of a world heritage site in Lvov demonstrates a "biased and inconsistent approach" within the organization, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said.
Earlier, the organization said that there had been an explosion in the buffer zone of a world heritage site in Lviv, Ukraine, which the organization called an "attack". According to UNESCO, which does not name the source of its information, the explosion occurred in a historic building located in the buffer zone of the Lviv - Historical Center Ensemble world heritage site.

"With its mentoring statement, designed primarily for Western capitals, the secretariat of the organization once again demonstrated a biased and inconsistent approach, a characteristic feature of which is the division of states into "good" and "bad," commented the Russian Foreign Ministry.

In this regard, Zakharova noted that, despite the demarche of the Russian Federation after the terrorist attack on the Moscow Kremlin and Red Square world heritage site, the incident did not receive a public reaction from the Director General of the Organization.

"As for the notorious 'buffer zone attack' in Lvov, according to the Russian Defense Ministry, a concentrated attack was carried out on the points of temporary deployment of the personnel of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and foreign mercenaries," Zakharova said.
