Kyiv mayor: Air defense systems shot down 11 Iranian-made drones

Explosions were heard in the early hours of Wednesday in the Ukrainian capital city of Kyiv.

 Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko said that air-defense systems shot down 11 Iranian-made Shahed drones early on Wednesday.

 An air raid alert was issued in the region at 05:55 local time (06:55 Moscow time).

Civil defense sirens are also sounding in the surrounding Kiev Region, as well as in the regions of Zhitomir and Vinnitsa.
