Israeli politicians ignored problems of neo-Nazism in Ukraine for years, diplomat says - TASS

Israeli politicians have been ignoring issues of neo-Nazism in Ukraine for years, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said on Russian TV Wednesday.

"Russian [Foreign] Minister [Sergey Lavrov] pointed out the years-long ignoring of the situation regarding growth of neo-Nazi ideology in Ukraine by the State of Israel. We see it, and we have repeatedly drawn attention of all countries, including Israel, to this problem," she said.

"One can endlessly pick on words and phrases. But why not pick with the same vigor on Nazi literature that circulates and is being disseminated among nationalist battalions? Why not pick on Azov’s insignia? Why not pick on swastika and other fascist insignia tattoos that have become commonplace among nationalist battalions? Why have Israeli politicians had no allergy to this for years and caused no outrage among them?" Zakharova added.
