Opposition’s rally due in Moscow has no humanitarian objectives (Hero of Russia)

“Clearly, behind the signage of the rally’s “humanitarian” mission, the organisers work off a Western order and Western money”, said a Hero of Russia, member of the Public Chamber Vyacheslav Bocharov

MOSCOW, September 20. /ITAR-TASS/. The opposition’s rally, due in Moscow on Sunday, which organisers call Peace March is a provocation, which has nothing to do with humanitarian objectives, a Hero of Russia, member of the Public Chamber Vyacheslav Bocharov said on Sunday.

“The Peace March - a rally featuring several opposing structures at a time - is only announced as a humanitarian action, possibly only for the reason to receive an official permission for the rally,” he said in an interview with ITAR-TASS.

“The rally has nothing humanitarian, as otherwise it was organised in the places where our humanitarian convoys are going, and it purpose would be then assistance to the people living in Ukraine’s south-east,” he said. There the organisers “could collect money for refugees, could help the disabled and retired.”

“Here, a political implication is evident. By exploitation of the topic of Ukraine’s domestic conflict, the organisers are trying to translate to the people the anti-Russian rhetoric.” The “March” “is pure provocation.”

  • In his opinion, the true receivers of the rally’s message are “two points, where supporters of the war in Ukraine are: the U.S. embassy and the embassy of Ukraine, which are dictating to the organisers which rhetoric to use.”

“Clearly, behind the signage of the rally’s “humanitarian” mission, the organisers work off a Western order and Western money,” he said.

Head of the Moscow government’s department of regional security Alexei Mayorov told ITAR-TASS the notification about organisation of the rally, which the opposition is calling the Peace March, states the rally’s objective is to protest against breaches of the Russian Constitution and norms of the international law.
