Hellenic MFA, Sunday, 15 June 2014:

Foreign Ministry spokesperson Konstantinos Koutras stated the following in response to journalists’ questions regarding the article in Saturday’s “Ta Nea” (Athens daily) on the monitoring of the internet correspondence of citizens of many countries, including Greece, by German security services:

“We are certain that the German side will respond to the article directly. Among friends, partners and allied countries, there are specific rules in place on cooperation and ethics; rules that the German government has referred to repeatedly in protesting violations of these rules that have come to light in the recent past.”
